Lucky is a 3 year old Hackney pony. He stands approximately 13.2 hands. He is full bodied and gorgeous! He has a wonderful chocolate color body with flaxen mane, tail and forelock. He has been started under saddle and is ready for riding. He is what I consider green broke. He has never bucked or reared with a rider on. He needs to learn to give to the bit. Currently being ridden in a full cheek, french link snaffle. He would make an excellent mount for a large child or small adult. We have owned Lucky since he was a weanling. He leads, lunges, stands tied, loads, trailers, is up to date on deworming, farrier and vaccinations. He doesn't kick or bite. He's in the lower end of the herd hierarchy. He will ride out alone or with other horses. Is an easy keeper.
About his personality: Lucky likes people. He responds well to a gentle but firm hand and voice. He's the first to meet you at the gate or in the pasture. He is curious, kind and gentle. It's his nature to be your friend and likes as much attention as you are willing to give him.
If you are willing to continue his routine, he will produce the results for you. Price is negotiable to an excellent home only. Serious inquiries only.
UPDATE from Wendy Fisher, Lucky's trainer:
He has been ridden down trail, road, and through orchards. Focusing more right now on driving. Should be pulling a cart by the end of this week.

Needs to find a home before winter. Price negotiable to the right home. GOOD HOME a must!

Please consider this cute little guy. He is so worth it.

I wish you people that brought your dog to camp (South Branch)this weekend and let him run way out ahead of you realize how selfish you are being, I fell off my horse because of you. What is it going to take for you to stop. Someone getting hurt? after being talked to you did it again the next day. What is up?
We as fellow riders should not have to be concerned that your dog may appear out of nowhere on a dead run towards us.

Report them to the authorities. I am a disabled ridet and if they do that to me I'd be hurt bad. Don't let these people continue - let the autorities take care of it and kick them out.

I know this may sound nasty but it is not intended to be. I am sorry you got thrown off your horse no matter what the reason but I want to ask what you do when you are riding and a dog runs out from a house. Does you horse throw you off? And what if a deer came running out of the woods in front of you, off again? Perhaps your horse needs a bit more training.
I take my dog along when I trail ride whenever I am somewhere where it is allowed and will continue to do so.

Just wondering if anyone has ridden Bass River or Pigeon Creek or even Eastmanville Poor Farm recently? The bugs, esp. mosquitoes have been terrible by my house and from last reports, terrible at these locations.

Just wondering if they are starting to die down at all. I would love to ride one of these locations this weekend.

I don't know if Old Orchard has trails to speak of--we use to camp there, so there was a trail that went to the Blue trail. There are lots of dirt roads across the highway, might have to explore...... wink

I have camped at Old Orchard in the past, but was told a couple years ago they were not going to have horse camping anymore. The camping area was way out back, trails were not marked well and we got turned around too many times. South Branch Trail camp is close by and much nicer to camp at.

He is a very sweet boy who is easy to catch in the pasture he walks right up to you. He is a big tall boy I think about 16.2 hands. He will walk along with quarter horses but prefers to gait and will gait out for long periods of time. He is UTD on his shots and coggins also has front shoes on. He needs someone who has more time to ride him and take him out on trail rides.Come on out and see Gunner and take him for a ride. If anyone rides the turtle ponds off West River rd in Sanford, just be cautious, there is a man that likes to sneak up on you and he is naked and not doing very nice things. Had it happen to me and a friend Thursday evening. Don't go out alone. I hope they catch him soon. Just FYI
